WHO WE ARE
Meet the people behind Great-Grand Tales.
Some of the most extraordinary stories in the world have never been written down. We are trying to change that.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Claire Jung, Founder
Great-Grand Tales Los Angeles, California
My great-grandmother lived to one hundred and eight. She survived wars, crossed oceans, and carried a century of stories inside her. And when she was gone, I realized I had never thought to ask her about any of it. That is why I started Great-Grand Tales.
Hi, I'm Claire, a high school student in Los Angeles. I started Great-Grand Tales so that students like me could sit down with the older people in their lives and simply ask—about their childhood, their wisdom, their hardships, the world as they knew it. Every conversation has surprised me, every story has been worth telling, and I believe that the connection between generations is one of the most valuable things we can nurture, and one of the easiest to take for granted.

OUR VISION
What We Hope This Becomes
We hope to expand into a platform where students anywhere can participate—interviewing, writing, and sharing stories from their own communities. We hope to build a collection that spans cities, cultures, and generations. We hope that elders everywhere feel seen and heard. We hope that the gap between generations gets a little smaller.
And we hope that somewhere along the way, a student sits down with someone they've never really talked to before, asks a simple question, and discovers that the most extraordinary person they've ever met has been sitting across from them at the dinner table their whole life.
"You touched a nerve in people.
If you ask somebody about their life, they love to talk to you. What you are doing is connecting the generations. You are the ultimate peacemaker."
